Teacher's Page...
Here, teacher's will find all of the resources needed to successfully use this WebQuest with their Stage Three class.
The aim of this WebQuest is to provide teachers with a term’s worth of inquiry based learning tasks for their students. The tasks have been differentiated for students using Bloom's Taxonomy and cater for three different levels of learning (working towards, working at, and working beyond stage level).
BEFORE you start using this WebQuest with your class, students must be divided into groups of approximately three. It is up to you how you choose to group students, however, the effectiveness of this WebQuest would be maximised if students were grouped according to ability level.
Throughout the term, it is essential for a teacher to continuously monitor the progress of each group/student. Students will be recording their progress on a Task Completition sheet which must be checked by the classroom teacher on a weekly basis.
N.B. Students have been given a limited number of website links for each task. This is to encourage students to develop their researching skills by locating relevant information on the internet. However, it is also important to encourage students to use other resources besides the internet. For example, creating a mini-library using a wide range of Japanese book in the classroom can influence students desire to use books as a resource.
Attached below you will find links that will direct you to the:
- Unit of Work (this includes: HSIE outcomes, research topics, assessment areas, and learning engagements including differentiation)
- Curriculum links to other Key Learning Areas
- Assessment Rubric (this will be used to assess students work throughout the term)
